My First Sketchbook

PREAMBLE

It is no secret that I have been drawing my whole life, and when I say my whole life, I mean it. This sketchbook is from 2011, I drew every drawing in it when I was in kindergarten. I was drawing a lot before kindergarten as well (mostly from a set of step-by-step drawing books by Ed Emberley), but I'm fairly certain this is the first sketchbook I ever kept. I feel very lucky to still have this book, it's always so much fun to flip through. So, without further delay, here is The First Sketchbook of Ethan Thorn:

Spidr man

Everyone's favorite hero.

Emitting orange light.

I used to draw a lot of spiders.

Poop!

They can't all be winners.

Abstract

Still the only abstract piece I've done to this day.

Mummy & Pyramid

Accurate depiction of Egypt.

Spooky Skeleton

Very spooky.

Spookier Ghost

Spookier.

Jack-o'-lantern

I guess I was celebrating Halloween in May.

Ed Emberley Werewolf

Double page spread alert!

Pee!

Like I said, they can't all be winners.

Music tree & Bee

And we're back to another winner... I think? I honestly have no clue what this is.

The End

Lots of empty pages in this sketchbook, some things don't change.
